There are an increasing number of wineries in Georgia. Wineries in Georgia
are overcoming obstacles that go back to Prohibition. The variety of
climate and terrain makes for a wide difference in growing conditions. Georgia
wineries produce both traditional southern wines based on the muscadine grape as
well as vinifera and hybrid varieals from grapes grown in the northern Piedmont
hills near Tennessee and North Carolina. Quite a number of wineries in
Georgia have lodging on site, from bed and breakfast inns to luxury
resorts. No matter your palate, you're sure to find a wine in Georgia that
will appeal to your palate.
